EPCOT is 1 of the 4 theme parks of the Walt Disney World. The others being Magic Kingdom,Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.Having been pleased with our experiences in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, we decided to see the technological wonder that was EPCOT.Well, we also had the 4 park pass at our disposal.

The day started early and we entered the park by 10:00 am(kinda early for a saturday). We knew it was going to be a long day. The park sprawls across 300 acres and is divided into Future World and World Showcase. The first thing 1 notices as you enter the park is the Spaceship Earth which looks like a giant golf ball rising above the horizon. Once you get over the overwhelming size of Spaceship Earth, you see that here the attractions are mostly done by technology giants like Siemens and Kodak. There are rides and there are rides.........here you have a look at the future. The "Honey, I Shrunk The Audience" is an entertaining 3D show for kids and big kids. Also there is the imagination pavilion with the Kodak "What if" labs and the intriguing "Playground of the Future". There was a ride called Soaring which gives you a feel of para gliding. Ofcourse, this is just a simulation where you remain seated in your chair. But when the ride starts you feel like you are gliding over the Golden Gate bridge, the Rockies and many other famous spots. The whole ride was surreal. This ride got us hungry and we stopped to grab a bite. With multitude of palatable choices making a decision sure seemed hard.

Post lunch, we went to the second part which was the World Showcase. This is comprised of 11 pavilions for 11 countries. Inside each pavilion you find shops, attractions and eateries which represent the culture and cuisine of that country. Unfortunaely, India is not among them. The countries were Mexico, Norway,China, Germany, Italy,United States,Japan,Morocco,France,United Kingdom and Canada. We managed to see the performance of a few countries.

Among them the Chinese - which was gymnastics with hoopla and other props performed by young Chinese girls. The agility in their moves and the balance in their postures was simply admirable. The Germans had a beer festival happening. The US had a play and some country music. There was a Japanese folklore recited by a Japanese woman which was again very entertaining. UK had a band of 4 mopheads performing renditions of famous hits from the 60's.But the best among all the performances we watched was the belly dancing of Morocco. Every single part of the dancer's body moved and hence the term "belly dance" is a misnomer for this art form. The whole act was so captivating that one forgets the time and space he is in. This act made us forget our aching legs and crying children. Well, you cant really forget crying children. But again, this made us light on our feet.

It was about 8pm when we covered most of the park. We had aching feet, tiring bodies and growling stomachs to tend to. The walk around the whole park tires you out.Besides, we also had to brave a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. We fed ourselves and decided to take leave. We also resolved to come back and watch all the missed performances and complete all the rides which are impossible to cover in 1 day.We finally got back to our cars in the parking, marveling at the technology and innovation that is EPCOT.

Too tired to write more............
