Today like all days started with me waking up to the touch of my sons little fingers. After taking care of the daily routine I sat down to watch some recorded TV. What is with the reality shows? Do reality shows have any reality? I think not.
There's this program called The Bachelor, which is more like a dating service.1 guy having to choose his partner from among 25 beautiful women. Each week 1 contestant gets eliminated based on his choice or rather on his disapproval of that contestant.Sounds fair....except it isnt.This particular bachelor fell in love with almost all the women.Basically he had a good time and told most of the girls that he was falling in love with them, before he dumped them.
1 of the contestants decided to back out herself, because she prioritized her job over him.There was a huge drama over her leaving the show.The bachelor seemed (read pretended)to be heart broken on her exit. Well finally he made his choice and got engaged.At the end of the show they announced the next Bachelorette.......and who should it be ......the very girl who had chosen her job over him.The funny part is....... that her job does not seem to be a priority any more.
Reality shows are actually not needed. These days the news channels take care of the entertainment with reality.Its a good thing there are a multitude of channels to chose from.And it is totally up to us what we choose to watch.Having said that, I think its okay to peek into shows like The Bachelor once in a way and see how far we are from reality.
I need to get back to my reality now. Time to get some work done.
